Eight Strategies for Working with Skilled Immigrants

This blog, written by a Pennsylvania refugee job developer, highlights eight strategies for health and human service agencies and front-line workers to help skilled refugees and immigrants. These strategies come from an IMPRINT webinar about the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians (WCNP) and its recent launch of an Immigrant Professionals Career Pathways Program. Some of these strategies highlighted from the newly launched Program include providing strengths-based needs assessments; recognizing the strengths, knowledge, education and training that refugees and immigrants possess. Additionally, clients receive cohort-based learning; mentors; individualized career action; and experience and credentials while working towards those long-term goals.
