Upward Mobility Virtual Workshops

Urban Institute is hosting an online workshop series that is designed to support local leaders with resources, tools, and guidance to increase upward mobility and racial equity for people and communities. In this series, participants will learn about the core principles of the Upward Mobility Framework and how to apply it in their communities to close equity gaps and foster economic success, dignity and belonging, and power and autonomy for all. These workshops offer a learning experience where attendees can engage in interactive discussions, explore real-world case studies, and develop practical skills for creating positive change in their communities. The series will provide an opportunity to connect with peers and gain actionable insights for communities.

Overview workshops will serve as an introductory course that explores the fundamentals of the Upward Mobility Framework. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding and learn how to apply related data and tools to drive positive change. Upcoming Overview workshops will be held:

• April 4, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET;
• April 14, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET.

Mobility Metrics workshops will build on the Overview workshops. Attendees will learn how to collect, analyze, and leverage data to measure progress, identify disparities, and inform decision making for upward mobility and racial equity. The upcoming Mobility Metrics workshop will be held:
