Addressing Domestic Violence as a Barrier to Work: Building Collaborations Between Domestic Violence Service Providers and Employment Services Agencies

Domestic violence can have a wide range of effects on the education, training, and employment options for women. Specifically, women on welfare who are victims of sexual violence may have a harder time meeting program requirements. From the Center for Impact Research, this article summarizes lessons learned from the Kraft Domestic Violence Services Project, which investigated how domestic violence is a barrier to women’s training and employment and provides recommendations for the integration of domestic violence services into employment services agencies.
