Digital Credentials in Practice: What Practitioners Should Consider

How can workforce programs help participants turn their skills and training into better job opportunities? Jobs for the Future will host a webinar on November 5, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. ET to explore how digital credentials and Learning and Employment Records (LERs) can help people document their skills, demonstrate their accomplishments, and communicate their qualifications to employers. The webinar will examine how education and workforce organizations can make these tools more useful by helping participants understand and share their credentials and connecting their achievements to employment opportunities.

For Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) practitioners, this webinar offers an opportunity to consider how digital credentials could strengthen employment and career advancement services. Practitioners can explore ways to help participants showcase skills gained through training, education, and work experience, including skills that may not be reflected in a traditional résumé or degree. The discussion also highlights the importance of partnerships with employers and workforce organizations to ensure credentials have value in the job market. These insights can help TANF programs better connect participants' accomplishments to meaningful employment opportunities and long-term economic stability.
