A representative from the Brigid Collins Family Support Center is seeking information to support a local project funded by a Children's Justice Act grant to design and implement a model to train multidisciplinary teams to improve identification, reporting, and investigation of child abuse with children with special health care needs.

A representative from the Arkansas Division of Public Assistance would like to know what states currently, or plan to, consider TANF participants in a countable work activity if they are providing childcare for the child of another TANF participant engaged in unpaid work activities?

In Iowa, Income Maintenance workers' caseloads are generic rather than specialized and are primarily comprised of Medicaid, Food Stamps, TANF and Child Care. IMs do both Intake and Ongoing management from application through case closure. We are attempting to set caseload standards. If any other state is configured the same way, will you tell us your statewide average caseload? Thank you.

Do we know of any examples of a so-called "Presumptive Maternal Custody Law" in operation in any State, as it may affect paternity establishment?

Are there promising practices regarding a formal, systematic, and/or significant outreach/PR efforts by a TANF agency either alone or in conjunction with their CSE partners to promote paternity establishment and its benefits to the child?

How do other states conduct resource and referral to the TANF population in educating parents on selecting quality child care? What are the services provided? What is the workflow from the moment the client states they need child care?

Our state legislature would like to utilize TANF funding to train child welfare workers on adoption issues. The goal would be to enhance caseworker knowledge of adoption issues and assist children and families through the adoption process. Focus would be for child only cases and children in the child welfare system to help them stabilize their living situation. Are any states currently using TANF funds for adoption services? Training? Any assistance or direction you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
