Bridging Siloes: Creating Stronger Alignment between Human Services and Postsecondary Education

Human services and post-secondary education systems often work with the same individuals but may operate separately, making it harder for people to connect their education goals with the supports they need to succeed. The American Public Human Services Association will host a webinar on October 28, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. ET to focus on strengthening alignment between the two systems. This topic is particularly relevant when helping Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) participants pursue college, credentials, or other post-secondary education while addressing financial, family, or other barriers. The discussion can help practitioners consider how stronger partnerships with colleges and universities could improve referrals, coordinate supports, and create clearer pathways between TANF services and education and employment goals.
