Resources For Service Providers

This National Indian Child Welfare Association collection provides service providers with resources for working with Native children and families involved with child welfare. It brings together information that can help professionals better understand Tribal communities, kinship care, the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA), and culturally responsive approaches to supporting families.

Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) staff can use this collection to build their understanding of the broader systems affecting Native families and strengthen referrals and coordination with Tribal and child welfare partners. The resources can also support staff learning about kinship care, ICWA, and approaches for working with Native children and families.
